Pragjyotishpur Medical College, inaugurated in February 2025, is Guwahati’s second medical institution, and 14th in State of Assam , established to enhance healthcare education and services in Assam. 

The Department of Physiology at Pragjyotishpur Medical College will play a pivotal role in the foundational medical education of students. Headed by Prof Bobyjeet Goswami , Associated by Dr Santana Saikia , and Assisted by Dr Rimpy Bhuyan and Dr Eseng K Borgohain also Two Senior Resident Dr Mayurpankhi and Dr Dhanushpriya are actively working for the department, It focuses on imparting comprehensive knowledge of human physiological processes, essential for understanding clinical subjects. The department shall be equipped with modern laboratories designed for practical experiments and demonstrations, facilitating hands-on learning experiences. Faculty members are dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of physiological mechanisms, preparing students for advanced medical training and research.

Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical application, the Department of Physiology aims to cultivate analytical and critical thinking skills among students, laying a strong foundation for their future roles as competent healthcare professionals.
