Good mental health enables us to handle life's challenges, build strong relationships, and lead fulfilling lives. Unfortunately, mental health issues are often stigmatized, and many individuals suffer in silence. Mental health care is essential for overall well-being, and we're committed to providing compassionate and evidence-based care to our patients. 

We are pleased to introduce the Department of Psychiatry at Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati, a newly established institution dedicated to providing comprehensive medical education and healthcare services. 

Our Psychiatry department is committed to delivering high-quality patient care, education, and research in the field of mental health. Our team of experienced psychiatrists and mental health professionals provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of various psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, and substance abuse. 

Currently, only OPD services are functional, with indoor services coming up very soon. 

Academic Programs of Undergraduate teaching for MBBS students are planned for next academic session. Postgraduate courses (MD Psychiatry) will follow in due course of time. Research and Collaborations with active participation with various state and national agencies/universities are envisioned. We pledge to make it a state-of-the-art Psychiatry department with all modern treatment facilities in the future.
