The department of Biochemistry was set up along with the establishment of Pragjyotishpur Medical College & Hospital in the year 2025. The department set up with a total of seven Faculties and three Senior Residents, imparts quality education to undergraduate and post graduate medical students along with paramedical students of different disciplines. Along with academics the department caters to patient care, by running the Biochemistry section of Central Clinical Laboratory of the hospital. The laboratory is functional 24 hours x 7 days and helps physicians and patients with precise reports in quality time. The department looks forward to acquiring the NABL accreditation status for its laboratory in near future. The faculties of the department also contribute to Medical Research by taking up projects on new areas of Biochemistry Research.
